  You get a cut, and it’s no big deal. You can go on with life and pretend the pain isn’t real. If you don’t think about it much, it will eventually heal and your skin will go back to looking ideal. But when the wound hasn’t healed yet and you pull at the scab, you will inevitably feel the pain slowly come back. If you pull too hard, eager to reveal the skin, you’ll put all your efforts in vain and start all over again. When you have failed to commit and proceed to rend it apart, you have failed to forget and will produce a permanent scar.
